Subject: Thank you: [Role] interview
Hi [Interviewer's name], Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today about the [Role] position. I really enjoyed our conversation about [something specific: a project, a challenge they described, the team's approach], and it confirmed how well this role fits what I'm looking for. One thing I'd add: [a point you wish you'd made, or a quick answer to a question you want to strengthen]. Thanks again, I'm looking forward to hearing about next steps. Best, [Your name]
Tips
- Send same-day if possible, next morning at the latest.
- Personalize each one if you spoke with multiple interviewers. Reference something different from each conversation.
- Use the "one thing I'd add" line to strengthen a weak answer or mention something you forgot. It's a natural, non-desperate way to do it.
- If a week goes by with no update, that's a separate message. See the follow-up after interview template.
Followup auto-creates a reminder the moment you log an interview date, so you never miss the 24-hour window.
